At Pura Vida Chicas, we’re passionate about helping you embrace a more natural, holistic approach to self-care. As a small, women-owned business, we handcraft every product in small batches right here in Elkhart, Indiana, using only the highest quality organic ingredients. From magnesium body butters to soothing pillow mists and aromatherapy rollers, our mission is to provide you with products that support relaxation, rejuvenation, and relief from life’s daily demands. We aim to be your trusted companion on the journey to wellness—because you deserve to feel and be your best, inside and out.
The Beginning
My journey into organic self-care began in 2014 when I was battling unbearable aches and pains. No medication seemed to help, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. My research led me to one conclusion: I had a magnesium deficiency. Determined to create a solution, I focused on 100% organic, topical magnesium remedies. Using my skills as a caterer in Northern Indiana, I experimented in the kitchen, trying sprays, supplements, and creams. After countless trials (and errors!), I finally perfected a whipped magnesium body butter that worked not only for me but for friends and family who tried it.
Growth & Partnership
In 2016, I launched my first Etsy store, and the response was overwhelming. By 2019, it became clear I couldn’t do it all alone. That’s when Jill joined me as co-owner. Jill had been a longtime supporter, using my products to help her father with his health issues. With her 25 years of sales experience and passion for self-care, Jill was the perfect partner. Together, we relaunched the brand with our own website and began expanding what we could offer while staying true to our small-batch, handcrafted roots.
Today & Beyond
Now, in 2025, Pura Vida Chicas has grown beyond anything Jill and I could have imagined. Last year, we celebrated our 5-year anniversary with a thriving e-commerce site and a team of amazing employees. We’re also in the process of building a new storefront and production space to keep up with demand. Despite this growth, we remain committed to what started it all: creating small-batch, organic products that help others embrace natural self-care. From my kitchen experiments to this incredible community, our mission has always been the same: Be good to yourself.
